The Gene Technology Technical Advisory Committee (GTTAC) function is to provide scientific and technical advice at the request of the Gene Technology Regulator (the Regulator) or the Gene Technology Ministers' Meeting relating to genetically modified organisms (GMOs), gene technology, and biosafety. The Regulator must consult GTTAC on the risk assessment of all licence applications for the environmental release of GMOs.
