We are the Australian Government’s pre-eminent advisor on the identification, protection and conservation of Australia’s biodiversity through the design and implementation of strategic policy, program delivery and partnerships, provision of technical advice to inform regulation and decision making, community awareness raising and representing Australia’s interests at international forums.
The Division includes five branches, which
together focus on biodiversity policy and water science, delivery of programs to support bushfire recovery and environmental and sustainable agriculture outcomes, and the protection and recovery of threatened species and ecological communities.
