The Subcommittee on Animal Health Laboratory Standards (SCAHLS) provides technical advice to the Animal Health Committee (AHC) on terrestrial animal health laboratory standards, policies and other matters. SCAHLS is a jurisdictionally and technically representative committee. Its membership is drawn from the Commonwealth, state and territory governments, CSIRO Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness, the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries, and several private veterinary laboratories. SCAHLS is chaired by a member of AHC.
