The Exports and Veterinary Services Division manages export inspection and certification services, meat exports and live animal operations, and develops strategies to gain, improve or maintain market access for a wide range of food and inedible products of animal origin. The division is responsible for the Australian Codex Alimentarius Contact Point in order to coordinate, develop and contribute policy and technical input to international food standards. The division also manages 33 tariff rate quotas, delivers the National Residue Survey for Australian primary industries, and the delivery of the Program Assisting Small Exporters. Following commitment, the division is responsible will be responsible for implementing relevant components of the Busting Congestion for Agricultural Exporters package and the Dairy Export Assurance Program.
