Study of Health Outcomes in Aircraft Maintenance Personnel Serum Management Committee

A Serum Management Committee (SMC) was established by an administrative decision of the Repatriation Commission in 2005 to oversee the storage, access, and use of serum samples and study data collected as part of the Study of Health Outcomes in Aircraft Maintenance Personnel (SHOAMP). The committee comprises representatives from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Department of Defence, and ex service organisations representing the interests of SHOAMP participants and reports annually to the Commissions. The SHOAMP examined the long term health outcomes of aircraft maintenance workers involved in F 111 fuel tank deseal/reseal activities between 1975 and 1999.
