The Sub‑Committee on Emergency Animal Diseases (SCEAD) is a standing subcommittee operating under the strategic direction of the Animal Health Committee (AHC). Its primary purpose is to coordinate and strengthen national preparedness for emergency animal diseases (EADs) by facilitating information sharing between jurisdictions, identifying opportunities to enhance preparedness, and overseeing national preparedness activities and subordinate task and advisory groups. SCEAD is a jurisdictionally representative committee, comprising representatives from the Commonwealth and state and territory Governments, the CSIRO Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) and Animal Health Australia. SCEAD is chaired by a member of AHC.
