Social Policy Division

Social Policy Division is responsible for the provision of advice to the Government and the Treasurer on social policy issues, health and labour market issues. This covers: Social security (including welfare reform), assistance for families, veteran affairs, early childhood development, community services (including child care and services for people with disabilities), housing, education, immigration, Indigenous issues and work/family issues; Schools, universities, training and vocational education, workplace relations and labour market assistance; and National health reform, aged care and accommodation, public health, hospitals funding, Medicare, private health insurance and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
