The role of the Council is to promote a joint approach to trans-Tasman banking supervision that delivers a seamless regulatory environment. Secretaries of the Australian and New Zealand Treasuries and officials representing the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Australian Securities and Investments Commission and Financial Markets Authority (NZ). Established under a bilateral agreement between Australia and New Zealand.
