The ACMA convenes a Consumer Consultative Forum (CCF) under section 59 of the Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005. The CCF assists the ACMA to perform its functions in relation to matters affecting consumers. The aims of the CCF are to: - bring together demand-side, supply-side, policy and regulatory interests on consumer issues - offer the ACMA perspectives on important issues affecting consumers, including consumers in vulnerable circumstances - provide networks to bring information to consumers about regulatory safeguards and initiatives. The CCF is chaired by a full-time member of the ACMA Authority and members are appointed by the ACMA. Membership includes representatives from consumer groups, industry bodies, and regulatory and government agencies.
