The Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) offers up to $5 billion over 5 years in finance which may be on concessional terms to encourage and complement private sector investment in infrastructure that benefits Northern Australia. This may include developments in airports, communications, energy, ports, rail and water. It also includes health, education and research facilities and training facilities The NAIF Board was established on 1 July 2016. Its legislative functions include making investment decisions within the scope of the investment mandate issued by the responsible Minister; and ensuring the proper, efficient and effective performance of the NAIF’s functions.
