Australia's Chief Scientist provides high-level independent advice to the Prime Minister and other Ministers on matters relating to science, technology and innovation.
The Chief Scientist also holds a number of ex-officio roles at the discretion of the government and include the role of chair in the National Science, Technology and Research Committee, the Research Infrastructure Road mapping panel, and deputy chair of Industry Innovation and Science Australia.
