ARWA leads the safe and secure long-term management and disposal of Australia's radioactive waste.
ARWA's work involves enabling Australia to meet international obligations under the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and Safety of Radioactive Waste Management; maintaining the national radioactive waste inventory; facilitating communication between government, industry, stakeholders, and local communities; and working with independent regulators for radioactive waste to ensure safety, security and environmental protection.
