Australian Centre for Disease Control Advisory Council

The Australian Centre for Disease Control (CDC) Advisory Council is established under section 26 of the Australian Centre for Disease Control Act 2025. The Australian CDC Advisory Council will support the Director-General by providing independent, expert advice across a broad range of public health matters, the CDC’s strategic direction and priorities, any matters to assist the Director-General in performance of their statutory functions, duties and powers, and any other matter that the Director-General requests. The Australian CDC Advisory Council will bring diverse knowledge and skills across relevant fields that will supplement the Director-General’s expertise as needed and will assist the Director-General in fulfilling their legislated functions and duties as the single accountable authority for the agency.
