The Director of Defence Counsel Services (DDCS) is appointed by CDF in accordance with s 110ZA Defence Act 1903. The primary role of DDCS is to manage the provision of legal assistance to persons facing trial before a court martial or Defence Force magistrate, to persons affected by aspects of the ADF administrative inquiries process, and in certain other instances where requested by a service chief or other senior officers.
