Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator

The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) will translate asymmetric technologies into defence capability to take Defence further, faster. Working in close collaboration with defence industry, including Australian primes, small and medium sized businesses and research organisations, ASCA’s priorities will be driven by the National Defence Strategy and AUKUS Pillar II – Advanced Capabilities. Launched on 1 July 2023, ASCA is part of the most significant reshaping of defence innovation in decades, designed to deliver vital capabilities for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). ASCA is not innovating or developing capability itself, rather it is connecting and streamlining the defence innovation system, to drive capability development and acquisition pathways at speed and more effectively harness and coordinate the innovation ecosystem.
