Media and Communication Officers within the Strategic Communications Branch are embedded across Defence and provide dedicated media and communication support to a particular Group or Service. Working in partnership with the Groups and Services, they provide strategic communication advice and enable Group and Service communication objectives, in line with Government and Ministerial priorities. Specifically, they identify Ministerial and Executive media and communication opportunities, provide input to communication products such as talking points and media releases and anticipate and respond to media enquiries to effectively manage risk, reputation, issues and events.
