The Biosecurity Operations Division is responsible for front line regulatory operations in relation to the management of biosecurity risks arising from Australian import and export processes. This extensive coverage includes incoming passengers, mail and cargo, as well as food and live animal export certification processes for Australian exporters and import clearance services for cats, dogs and other animals. The Division spans a range of regulatory activities that play a critical role in reducing risk, and shaping our nation to become one of the few countries in the world to remain free from the world’s most severe pests and diseases. The Division has staff located across the country operating at airports, ports, abattoirs and third party premises with a mix of skills and professional qualifications.
