Export Standards

The Export Standards Branch (ESB) works with industry stakeholders and international trading partners: - to maintain, improve, and establish new market access for meat, fish, dairy, eggs, animal by-products and other goods, by negotiating agreed conditions of trade. - to maintain and update the Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) - manage the SAFEMEAT Secretariat and support Commonwealth participation - provide chemical residue and microbiological policy oversight for export certification. - as the Australian Codex Alimentarius Contact Point and hosts the Codex Committee on Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification - to coordinate and develop policy and technical input to influence international food standards.
