The Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) is declared as the meat processor body under the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Disbursement Act 2024. AMPC is the research and development corporation for the red meat processing industry throughout Australia. AMPC's mandate is to support research, development and extension initiatives that are directed at improving the sustainability and efficiency of the red meat processing industry. Red meat processor levies are strategically invested by AMPC in research, development, extension and marketing programmes aimed at delivering improvements to the red meat processing sector and providing significant benefit to the whole of the red meat industry and the broader Australian community. The AMPC board is accountable to its members through its constitution established under the Corporations Act 2001 and to the Minister for Agriculture through the Statutory Funding Agreement for the expenditure of monies appropriated by Parliament under the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Disbursement Act 2024.
