Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES) are the research arm of the department, working at the interface between evidence, analysis and policy. Our strengths lie across agricultural and natural resource economics and sciences. The Executive Director oversees 9 research programs in 3 branches: Agricultural Forecasting and Trade; Farm Performance, Biosecurity and Information; and Natural Resources.
