The Government has established a Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion, in the wake of the Bondi terror attack on 14 December 2025. The Royal Commission is being led by former Justice of the High Court, the Hon Virginia Bell AC.
The Letters Patent dated 9 January 2026 set out the terms of reference of the Royal Commission.
The Royal Commission delivered an interim report to the Government on 30 April 2026.
The terms of reference for the Royal Commission were amended to extend the reporting date from 14 December 2026 to 18 December 2026.
