The Council is an independent, non-statutory advisory body that provides strategic advice to Government on innovation priorities and facilitates practices that engender competitiveness in the rail manufacturing sector. The Council enhances Australia’s competitiveness in rail-related research and development, commercialisation, and rate of technology adoption. The Council is chaired by the National Rail Manufacturing Advocate who provides industry leadership to improve competitiveness and maximise opportunities for Australian manufacturers.
