Repatriation Commissioner

The Commissioner/Services Member is a senior position of the Repatriation Commission appointed by the Governor-General for a fixed term pursuant to the VEA. The Commissioner/Services Member is also appointed as a part-time member of the MRCC. The ex-service community nominates candidates for the Commissioner / Services Member appointment in the Repatriation Commission. As such, this person maintains a close relationship with ex-service organisations (ESOs) around Australia which entails liaison with the ESO leadership, attendance at National and State conferences of the major organisations, attendance at special conferences and meetings as required, and attendance at regional meetings as time and other duties permit. The Commissioner/Services Member also maintains a close relationship with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and the Department of Defence. The Commissioner is responsible for the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) Network and this group reports to the him for DC related matters.
