On 15 December 2014, the Government announced in the Ministerial Paper Small Government - Towards a Sustainable Future that the Plant Breeder's Rights Advisory Committee will be merged into IP Australia.
The Committee advises the Minister on technical aspects of the plant breeder's rights (PBR) system. Administrative and financial support for the Committee is provided by IP Australia. Established by the Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994, sections 63 to 67. Eight members plus the Registrar of Plant Breeder's Rights as the ex officio Chair.
