On 15 December 2015, as part of the 2015-16 MYEFO, the Government announced the Medical Training Review Panel will be ceased.
The Panel examines the demand for, and supply of, medical training opportunities, and monitors the implementation of particular measures in accordance with the Act. Existing measures require medical practitioners to complete a recognised postgraduate medical training program to be eligible to provide services that attract Medicare benefits.
