The Aged Care Pricing Commissioner is an independent, statutory office holder appointed under the Aged Care Act 1997 and reports to the Assistant Minister for Social Services. The functions of the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner include: - the approval of extra service fees; - the approval of proposed accommodation payments that are higher than the maximum amount determined by the Assistant Minister for Social Services; - any other functions conferred on the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner by the Assistant Minister for Social Services or under Commonwealth law.
