Foreign Affairs and Trade
The Australian Government is preparing a new International Development Policy and Performance Framework to guide its international development efforts in support of security, stability, prosperity and resilience in the Indo-Pacific and internationally. The Government has appointed an Expert Panel to advise Ministers and the Department of a Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) on the development of the new policy and performance framework. The Group will include members with varied experience and perspectives, including in the foreign policy, international development, private sector and non-government sectors. Responsibilities of the Panel are to: - Provide advice to DFAT in preparing and drafting new development policy and performance framework. - Provide independent advice to Ministers on the new policy and performance framework. - Engage in formal and informal stakeholder consultations from December 2019 to May 2020. - Review key documentation in-between face-to-face meetings. - Test the assumptions of DFAT, stakeholders and Government.
