Government Business Improvement
The Branch works to improve the business of government through: • Budget advice on ICT proposals and assessment of business cases for high-risk, high-cost proposals in the context of the Government’s ICT Investment Approval Process. • Co-ordination of the Government’s assurance reviews program (Gateway and Implementation Readiness Assessments). • Development of an enhanced approach to whole-of-government planning for major departmental investments. The Branch also hosts the Government Business Analytical Unit that aims to improve the capacity for the department to use government data to inform decision-making and the management of public sector resources.
