The Research Sustainability Working Group (RSWG) was announced on 1 July 2020, to support the reforms to the higher education sector, under the Job-ready Graduates Package. The RSWG is an expert Vice-Chancellor working group and will advise the Minister on sustainable approaches to research funding for universities during COVID-19 and beyond. The RSWG members have been appointed for their individual expertise and will provide advice on the challenges and strengths of the current higher education research funding architecture, and options the Australian Government should consider to ensure the ongoing sustainability and strength of Australia’s research system.
