Education, Skills and Employment
On 19 June 2020, the Hon Dan Tehan MP, Minister for Education, announced the Job-ready Graduates Package, which includes a series of reforms to the higher education sector. As part of the package, the Australian Government established a $900 million National Priorities and Industry Linkage Fund (NPILF) to support universities to engage with industry and produce job-ready graduates. The NPILF is intended to support universities to engage with industry to produce job-ready graduates. To provide a NPILF which is dynamic and fit-for-purpose, a working group of university Vice-Chancellors (the working group) will provide advice on the design of the NPILF, with the final model and formula to be introduced from 2024 and enhanced thereafter.
