Under an arrangement between the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government and the Australian Government, the Commonwealth Ombudsman is also the ACT Ombudsman. The ACT Ombudsman investigates complaints about the administrative actions of ACT Government agencies, ACT public education providers and the Australian Federal Police. The ACT Ombudsman may also investigate complaints about a decision, a delay in providing information, or any other aspect of an ACT agency's handling of a Freedom of Information request. The ACT Ombudsman conducts inspections of ACT Policing`s use of covert powers and is also authorised to deal with ACT whistleblower complaints.
