Attorney-General's
Australia-New Zealand Emergency Management Committee (ANZEMC) is the senior officials group supporting the Law, Crime and Community Safety Council on emergency management matters. The committee works to strengthen disaster resilience by providing strategic leadership on emergency management policy and supporting related capability and capacity development activities including the implementation of the National Strategy for Disaster Resilience. ANZEMC comprises senior representatives from the Australian, state and territory governments, the Australian Local Government Association and New Zealand. ANZEMC is co-chaired by the Secretary of the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department and a rotating state/territory representative.
