Animal Industries, RDCs & Investment
The Food, Investment & Energy branch is comprised of the following sections: •Energy & Emerging Technologies •Agriculture Investment •Animal Products and Food Markets. The Energy & Emerging Technologies section provides policy advice to government on animal welfare issues, agricultural technology, and energy markets and infrastructure. The Agriculture Investment section provides policy advice to government on research and development corporations (RDCs) and governance of their activities; agricultural investment; and research and innovation. The Animal Products and Food Markets section provides policy advice to government on animals and animal products (including red meat, poultry, eggs, pork and wool); food markets, food security, food loss and waste, and consumer trends; and matters to do with the Food and Grocery Sector Group. The section also liaises with Meat & Livestock Australia, LiveCorp, Australian Meat Processors Corporation, Australian Wool Innovation, Australian Pork Limited, Australian Egg Corporation Limited, and with AgriFutures Australia on emerging animal industries.
