The Financial Policy and Business Support Branch develops policies, programs and advice about the primary industry business environment supported by collecting accurate and timely data. This includes targeted assistance to primary producers and their families to help them better manage in hard times including, but not limited to, drought. The branch delivers the Farm Household Allowance, the Rural Financial Counselling Service Program, the Farm Management Deposit Scheme and advises on financial, banking and taxation policy. The branch manages concessional loan policy, including leading the department’s engagement with the Regional Investment Corporation.
