The Post Entry Quarantine facility based in Victoria, is a purpose-built biocontainment facility for quarantine of imported high risk plants and animals. It undertakes assessment, inspection and post-entry quarantine for avian (live birds and hatching eggs), plants, bees, cats, dogs, horses and ruminants; and manages plant and animal reservations via the Post Entry Biosecurity System. The facility also includes the Plant Innovation Centre which provides in house research and development opportunities by collaborating with scientists globally to answer key plant biosecurity questions.
