The Biosecurity Policy and Implementation Division develops and implements national policy initiatives relating to biosecurity; leads the implementation and review of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Biosecurity; delivers and optimises the use of a modern, flexible and responsive biosecurity system under the Biosecurity Act 2015; contributes to the development of a risk-based approach to biosecurity operations across the continuum; contributes to preparing for and responding to biosecurity threats and incursions; coordinates and oversees the implementation of the biosecurity measures outlined in the Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper.
