The Biosecurity Incident National Communication Network (NCN) produces nationally consistent public information in response to pest and disease outbreaks and animal welfare incidents. The network consists of communication officers from the Commonwealth, state and territory agencies responsible for biosecurity and agricultural health organisations. The NCN's role has expanded from its original focus on emergency animal diseases to include plant, aquatic animal and marine pest and disease responses. As well as working together in response to incidents, the NCN addresses national biosecurity preparedness issues. 16 core members, plus other members as necessary during a biosecurity incident.
