Structure, organisations and key people
Established by the Criminology Research Act 1971 as a CAC agency, the Institute conducts policy relevant research in the field of criminal justice, publishes research findings, and conducts conferences, seminars and roundtables. The Institute's JV Barry Library houses one of Australia's foremost criminological collections. The Institute participates in international forums, including the United Nations and other international criminological research organisations.
