Structure, organisations and key people
Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) was founded in 1973 to provide short- term accommodation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who for various reasons were unable to access appropriate housing.
Today, AHL continues to provide accommodation through its network of over 150 hostels across Australia that is operated either by AHL, or community organisations under our Community and Corporate Partnership Program.
Each hostel provides safe, comfortable, culturally appropriate and affordable accommodation to Indigenous Australians who must live away from home to access services and economic opportunity.
